A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community Partners

We at the Hickory Ridge Community Center are immensely grateful for the generous monetary grants and volunteer assistance provided by our community partners throughout this year. Your support has made a significant impact on our ability to serve our community.

The Brown County Community Foundation

The Brown County Community Foundation has been a beacon of support for us. Their grant enabled us to replace the old, worn-out furnace that heats our meeting room, dining room, and kitchen. This generous contribution has ensured the safety of our building and the comfort of our guests.

As a 501(c)(3) corporation, the Brown County Community Foundation manages and distributes income from charitable bequests in line with donors’ wishes and interests. They make grants to local nonprofit organizations based on advice from donors, who can direct their gifts to specific organizations or general areas of concern within the community. Their mission is to inspire charitable giving, bring people and resources together, and facilitate investment to meet the greatest needs of Brown County.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Brown County Community Foundation for their invaluable assistance in upgrading our heating system. This upgrade allows us to continue providing a safe and comfortable meeting space for our community.

Cummins Engine Company

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Cummins Engine Company and their volunteers. This year, Cummins provided a grant that enabled us to transform our old landscaping into beautiful new raised flower beds. This project addressed safety and drainage issues, as we removed loose stones edging the old flower beds and rerouted drainage to prevent downspouts from draining onto the walking track. The grant also funded new plants for the flowerbeds and the installation of an outdoor water spigot, making it easier to water the plants. The retaining wall surrounding the flowerbeds now serves as a bench for outdoor seating, further enhancing our community space.

On October 4th, we were fortunate to have approximately twenty volunteers from Cummins join us at the center. They assisted with beautification projects, including planting bulbs, cutting brush, and raking leaves.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Cummins Engine Company for their continued support and the positive impact they have made on our community center.
