Our Facilities

The Hickory Ridge Community Center is located at 2314 Hickory Ridge Lane, Morgantown Indiana. Although our mailing address is Morgantown, the facility is located in Hamblen Township in Northern Brown County.

Our facilities are located in a park-like setting and include a heated and air-conditioned building which houses a large meeting room, a smaller dining room/food service area, and a large kitchen. Outdoor amenities include a fenced playground area for younger children with a separate playground area for older children, horseshoe pits, picnic tables, and a large open field where baseball or soccer games could be held. We have paved parking and a paved walking track for your enjoyment. We also have a Little Free Library.

The outdoor facilities are available for use by the public  on any day that the facility is not reserved. Use of the facilities is open to all without discrimination. Community members are not required to be a member of the organization to use the facilities.

The facility is available for community members to rent at very affordable rates and is ideal for hosting community events, family reunions, graduation parties, baby showers, birthday parties and other celebrations.

Little free library

Nationally Registered Little Free Library

The Hickory Ridge Community Center is home to a Little Free Library book-exchange box. We are registered with the National Little Free Library Organization. Our charter number is 106898.

The Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Their mission is to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Library book-exchange boxes. Their vision is a Little Free Library in every community and a book for every reader. They believe all people are empowered when the opportunity to discover a personally relevant book to read is not limited by time, space, or privilege.

Our Little Free Library book-sharing box is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day and is freely accessible to all. We invite you to take a book to read or share a book you have enjoyed by leaving it in the Little Free Library book-sharing box.

The Little Free Library Book-Sharing Box at the Hickory Ridge Community Center was donated by Travis and Lou Summers in memory of Morris and Dorothy Dine. Morris and Dorothy were founding members of the Hamblen Township Civic League which is the organization that owns and manages the Hickory Ridge Community Center. One of Dorothy’s favorite hobbies was reading. Both Dorothy and Morris were very active in the Hamblen Township Civic League and the Hickory Ridge Senior Citizens group.
